What Makes a Good Headline?

Headlines are the first impression a person gets of your website. A great headline gets people to click through and read the rest of the webpage. It is imperative that your headline “strikes a chord” in your reader’s mind and make them take action.

  • If you are selling products or services, then you need a product-specific headline (e.g., “How to buy an iPhone X” vs “5 reasons not to spend $699 on an iPhone X”)
  • If you are selling information, then your headline will be more focused on specific benefits or features of your product (e.g., “Why You Should Never Buy Beats By Dre” vs “Top 5 reasons not to buy Beats By Dre headphones”)

Although the above may seem like a lot of space for a single blog post, it isn’t; it’s just the tip of the iceberg for SEO optimization efforts. With so many aspects that can be optimized for, it is easy to get drowned in details, but there are simply too many varying factors involved to cover them all here in this blog article post

How to Write SEO Headlines

When writing an SEO-optimized headline, you need to remember that not all words in a headline must be used. Most of the time, we only need to use the first few words of a keyword. This is because most keywords are short enough that it doesn’t take too long for users to scan through them and come across your web page/blog. If we use the first few words of every keyword, we can easily stretch out our content and still make it look good all at once.

So what should be in those first few words? You should always think about what people might want when they click on their keywords (which is why I recommend against using “click”). What do they want to know? What do they care about? What makes them click on that link? Are there any search terms inside those keywords that could be more relevant or provide more value than the rest?

Title of your post offer critical information about your service and product in general. But before writing a great SEO-optimized headline, go back and re-read this post and try out some different power approaches on your own (all of which were inspired by this post).

Effective SEO Headlines Examples

A headline is the first line of a page on the web. It is usually the first thing a visitor will see, and it’s where your company name should appear. This is also where you want to put your call-to-action (CTA) text in order to get traffic to your blog and to convert your audience to buying customers.

Some excellent examples of headlines include:

  • A simple, straightforward headline like “Coffee Can Help You Lose Weight”
  • A description that reveals what exactly coffee does for your health
  • A call-to-action that leads people through the page and offers value (like “Buy Now”)

Conclusion

SEO is one of the most important aspects of your website, and a lot of people don’t think about it very much. If you want to get better rankings on Google, you need to be paying more attention to SEO.

With so many search queries out there, it can seem like the only way to get better rankings is by paid ads. But it’s not cheap. SEO isn’t everything — in fact, there are lots of things you can do for a better ranking without spending money at all.

One thing that most people don’t know about SEO is that there are a lot of different types of rankings for your site: organic (what people see on search), sponsored links (what search engines show), other sites (what other sites are showing), and even mobile.

PRO Tips

There are more than 10 different ways to optimize your site’s ranking depending on how you want your site to look and how you want others to find it:

  • Think about what you want your website to be
  • Pick which type of ranking will help you achieve it
  • Look at what other people are doing with their websites
  • Try out some ideas yourself and figure out if they work for you or not

Notes:

Best practices often vary from one site to another, but there is no one-size-fits-all solution for getting good rankings on Google — or anywhere else for that matter! So take time out of your day and make sure that the content you write meets all of the criteria above. You also need to pay attention to user experience, as well as search engine optimization (SEO). The biggest reason why people get “bad” rankings on the internet is that they don’t pay attention — or at least they aren’t paying enough attention! Hopefully, this post has helped clear up some misconceptions around SEO and will raise awareness around this topic in general. Thanks for reading!
